CityChess was born from a shared passion for design, craftsmanship, and iconic cityscapes. Founded in Zaandam by Silvan Glorie and Ties Westerhuis—two visionary industrial designers—our mission is to combine the timeless strategy of chess with the architectural beauty of cities worldwide.

Inspired by local craftsmanship and sustainability, we create unique chess sets that bring beloved city icons to life as beautifully designed chess pieces. Each set is more than a game: it's a tribute to history, culture, and design. We work with carefully selected residual materials like MDF to minimize waste and maximize impact.
